Bertha joined us in 2024. She works on poverty, inequality, economic growth, trade, work and employment, and a range of related topics.

Bertha has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sheffield and a double M.Sc. in Economic Development and Growth from the University of Warwick and Lund University.

Before joining Our World in Data, Bertha worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sheffield and as a principal economist at the Institute for the Future of Work, on the Pissarides Review into the Future of Work and Wellbeing.
