Announcing new features: better interactive maps
Learn what’s new and try it out yourself.
We’re very excited to announce several new features that make exploring global data with our interactive maps even better.
In this short post, we walk through the new features and give you a chance to try them out yourself with one of our maps.
What’s new
- Enhanced country/region selection with several sorting options and a bar chart preview
- Selecting a country highlights it and shows its value on the map
- Zooming to your selection brings up a 3D globe view
- Explore the globe and zoom in on different continents
- Switch between 3D and 2D views
- Filter to see continents and income groups
On mobile, we have a simplified version that focuses on selecting and zooming to individual countries.
And as always with our interactive charts, you can:
- Choose different years and “play” the map over time
- Switch to a line, bar, or slope chart view with country selection maintained
